KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Royals minor leaguers Wil Myers, Jake Odorizzi and Yordano Ventura have been named to the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game roster, the team announced on Thursday.
The game, featuring the top minor league prospects, will be part of the All-Star Sunday events at Kauffman Stadium, prior to the 83rd MLB All-Star Game set for Tuesday, July 12th.

Major League Baseball, in conjunction with the Major League Baseball Scouting Bureau, MLB.com, Baseball America and the 30 Major League clubs, selected the 25-man rosters for each club – the U.S. Team and the World Team.
The teams feature 17 former first round draft picks (U.S. – 13; World – 4), six players picked in Compensation Round A (U.S. – 5; World – 1) and four second round picks (all U.S.). Among the 17 first round picks, nine were selected in the 2011 First-Year Player Draft, including each of the top four overall picks. The World Team features players from 11 different countries and territories outside the 50 United States. The Dominican Republic is represented by eight players, followed by Venezuela (six), Cuba (two) and Puerto Rico (two).
Myers, 21, is hitting .328 for the AAA Omaha Storm Chasers, with 11 homers and 32 RBI’s. The outfielder was a third-round draft pick of the Royals in 2009, and was ranked as the No. 19 prospect in pro baseball going into the 2012 season by MLB.com.
RHP Odorizzi, 22, is 4-0 with a 2.41 ERA for the Storm Chasers, with 34 strike outs in 33.2 innings pitched in 2012. He was acquired from the Milwaukee Brewers in December 2010 along with infielder Alcides Escobar, pitcher Jeremy Jeffress and outfielder Lorenzo Cain in exchange for pitcher Zack Greinke.
RHP Ventura, 21, is 3-5 with a 3.10 ERA for the Class A Wilmington Blue Rocks, with 78 strikouts in 61 innings pitched. He was signed as a non-drafted free-agent by the Royals in 2008, and was ranked as the organization’s 10th best prospect going into 2012 by MLB.com.
