RAYTOWN, Mo. – Bobbie Stone wears a bracelet in memory of her husband of nearly 35 years, Harry, who was gunned down while going for a routine jog Sunday, May 13th.
“Apparently, very randomly, someone drove by in a car and pulled out a gun and shot my husband,” Stone said.
On it, the bracelet has a phrase, “do the right thing.”
It’s what she’s asking anyone with information about her husband’s death to do.
“I want justice for my husband,” Stone said.
In the six week’s since Harry’s death, despite overwhelming media coverage, even a video showing the suspect’s car, his death remains a tragic puzzle. Who would kill Harry?
Stone believes someone has those answers. She hopes an increased reward, $10,000, will persuade that person to come forward.
“When you get into double digits. You know, that makes a difference,” said Stone.
By now, police believe the people responsible have confided in someone about what they did.
“Criminals like to talk. It’s just in their DNA so to speak,” Kevin Boehm, the Crimestoppers Coordinator said.
Whether or not Harry’s murder is ever solved, Bobbie Stone promises to not let her husband die in vain. She vows to use her own money and to raise more to help young people find hobbies and interests- other than violence.
“Violence is rampant, and it just makes me sick in my soul,” she said.
