KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City officials have given the all-clear and lifted a boil advisory affecting residents in Southeast Kansas City Wednesday afternoon, about 24 hours after it was issued.
A power problem at a pump station prompted the city to issue a boil order for a large part of Southeast Kansas City on Tuesday afternoon.
The power outage caused low water pressure and as a precaution authorities asked all customers who live in the area south of I-70 to 87th Street and the area from Blue Ridge Cutoff east to the city limits, to boil their drinking or cooking water for at least three minutes.
Water samples were collected to confirm water quality .

The problem at the pump station affected residents in Blue Springs and Lee’s Summit, as well. The cities asked residents to reduce their use of water. Blue Springs has since cancelled the request.
