KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The season of giving continued Saturday morning with a group of volunteers in Kansas City. Nearly two dozen young adults met bright and early for a “Selfless Saturday.”
The group started by cooking brunch for families at the Ronald McDonald house, then made Thanksgiving meals and hit the streets.
The group made its way down to Independence Avenue, then walked block by block, passing out Styrofoam boxes and bottles of water. One of the founders of the organization, Candice Davies, believes making a difference positively as a young adult is critical when trying to implement change.
Davies said, “Love is the answer to all things, and if we just show love to one another, then that’s what’s going to make a difference in our world and that’s when you’re going to see the real change in Kansas City.”
The group says it received some donation money, but the young people paid for most of the food.
