KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Ten puppies abandoned on the side of the road in east Kansas City are now being cared for by KC Pet Project.
The puppies were found in an old plastic Rubbermaid tub along Raytown Road near I-435 Wednesday afternoon. The dogs were exposed to the cold for an undetermined about of time and left to die without food or water.
Fortunately for the puppies, a Good Samaritan driving by stopped to see what was in the container and discovered the tiny dogs. That person took them to KC Pet Project, which is actually just down the road from where the dogs were abandoned. The puppies are now under a veterinarian’s care.

The KC Pet Project and other animal shelters in the metro take care of abandoned and neglected animals by providing food and medical care. Their location along Raytown Road opens at noon. Another shelter located in Zona Rosa opens at 10 a.m.
If you have a dog, cat, puppy or kitten you don’t want, don’t it on the side of the road. Take that animal to your area shelter and leave them there, so they can be cared for by a loving family that wants them in their home.
