Keeping it healthy, environmentally-friendly and all-natural, Michelle Park shares some activities for kids this summer.
FOR THE GIRLS
Homemade lip gloss is perfect for your girly-girl. You use Vaseline and different extracts — vanilla extract, almond extract, cinnamon etc. to flavor them. Then pack them up in little holders for your little girl to carry around. It’s 100 percent all-natural and she will feel like a diva.
Use three parts Vaseline to one part vanilla extract. Park uses the little tubs of Vaseline lip therapy so they are easy for the girls to put in their purses. There is also the option to add a little honey for sweetness, but not too much or it will get sticky.
FOR THE BOYS
For boys to bond with their dads, they can use the new line of Benjamin Moore paint, called Ben, which features easy application and is great with touch-ups, making it perfect for the DIY painter.
Because it has a low VOC and odor, Ben is an environmentally friendly paint, so you can let your little boy go crazy with the deck repainting, whether he wants to paint his favorite car or sports team together!
HEALTHY DIY SNACKS FOR ALL
Popchips are a really healthy alternative to chips, with half the fat but lots of fun flavors. Little kids love to smash up anything, so grab a mortar and pestel and put some chickpeas, salt and lemon juice to make a healthy hummas dip.
Arctic Zero Sundae Bar — Arctic Zero is a healthy frozen treat and alternative to ice cream in the hot summer months so your kids can fulfill their craving without all that fat. Set up all the different flavors and set aside little bowls of toppings, so your kids can make their own. Park’s favorite toppings are fresh fruit and granola. She prefers to use KIND granola because it is all-natural, has a full serving a fiber and is great for kids and adults alike.
