DENVER — Who would have thought that Little Bunny Foo Foo and her cousins could be such trouble makers?
According to CBSLocal.com, bunnies are being blamed for hundreds — sometimes thousands of dollars — in damage to cars parked at Denver International Airport. The furry hoppers eat the wires accessible from under the car.
“They like to chew on the insulator portion of the ignition cables. That’s what we see,” said Arapahoe Autotek spokesman Wiley Faris.
About 100 rabbits are removed every month by the USDA Wildlife Service, however the problem persists.
“I see at least dozens every morning,” said airport shuttle driver Michelle Anderson.
Crews are expected to install new fencing to make it more difficult for the rabbits to burrow under.
According to CBSLocal, most insurance companies won’t cover the cost of damage caused by the rabbits. Airport and city officials said they’re not responsible either. Parking permits clearly state they are not responsible for any damage done to cars while parked at the airport.
