Aida is live at Kauffman Center through this weekend, put on by Starlight Theatre. Chelsea Packard, who plays Amneris, and Kip Niven, who plays Pharaoh, stopped by to talk about the show. Packard has quite a bit of Broadway experience and Kip is a Kansas City native and KU alum. Aida was written by Elton John and Tim Rice.
The musical was the winner of four Tony Awards including best musical score and best book.
Performances are Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 and up.
