KANSAS CITY, Mo. — AIDS research always needs more help and this weekend a local group is helping to raise money for people right here in the metro.

Theresa Van Ackeren stopped by FOX 4 on Saturday morning to talk about the 10th Annual AIDS Bicycle Cruise and how those interested can join in.

The 10th Annual AIDS Bicycle Cruise starts on Sunday at noon. It begins and ends in Westport.

The Court Appointed Special Advocates, OR CASA, has some fun fundraisers coming up. So Martha Gershun stopped by FOX 4 to talk about one for the Missouri side, and Lois Rice stopped by for another event on the Kansas side.

The Carnival for CASA took place Saturday morning and included a large carnival at Paradise Park, rides, activities, lunch and treats, silent auction and a raffle.

Tickets were $30 per child, and $10 for adults.

On then Kansas side is the Hops and Barley Ball which takes place Friday, September 26, from 6-10 p.m. at the Dark Horse Distillery in Lenexa. That event is a speakeasy-style evening with live swing and Jazz music, as well as dancing.
