It’s Day Nine of FOX 4’s 12 Days of Christmas Cooking and Karli brought in her mom’s roll-out sugar cookies.

  • 2/3 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbls. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cups flour

Mix butter on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar, baking powder and salt. Beat until combined. Beat in egg, milk and vanilla until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can, stir in the remaining.

Divide dough in half and chill 30 minutes or until hardened enough to roll out.

Lightly flour surface and roll half the dough at a time until desired thickness. Use cookie cutters and cut out dough.

Bake 375° for 7-8 minutes or until edges are firm and bottoms are lightly browned.

Transfer to a wire rack and cool. Frost and decorate.
