KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Jay French with the Ultimate Cruise and Vacation was a guest on Tuesday’s FOX 4 Morning Show. He gave several suggestions about trips to book now for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
Colorado Ski Vacation — Perfect for shorter, easily accessible winter holiday trips and can easily accommodate family and multi-generational families with condos right in the heart or nearby ski resorts. Fly or drive and arrive quickly. These resorts are already reporting snow. Breckenridge opens Nov 8. Copper Mountain on Nov. 1, Winter Park on Nov. 13. All of these resorts are highly popular with Kansas City area residents. Great activities are available including skiing, tubing, shopping and sightseeing.
Florida — Easy getaway for three or four nights from Kansas City. Flights are still available. This is the best warm weather beach destination option for this time of year. Destin is too cool by then, so we recommend possibly Clearwater/St Petersburg beach areas. Or warmer yet — Ft. Lauderdale’s Hollywood Beach is long, wide and absolutely gorgeous. Great beaches, nightlife, family attractions, water activities and tremendous shopping options including the World’s Largest Outlet Mall – Sawgrass Mills.
Christmas/New Year’s — We specialize in all-inclusive resorts and the Kansas City market has been especially supportive of these style vacations, thus the reason companies like Funjet Vacations have been chartering non-stop flights from Kansas City to Cancun & Puerto Vallarta for over two decades. Puerto Vallarta — Kansas City has non-stop flights to Puerto Vallarta both Dec. 21 and Dec. 28 for 7 nights. While this destination does not offer quite as clear a water or quite as white beaches, they do have beautiful long beaches with mountain backdrops, a 30-mile long bay, spectacular nightly sunsets, and more importantly better pricing than Cancun. There is a fabulous historic, authentic town to visit that is very fun. We have access to resorts that even have the elusive multi-bedroom accommodations. Activities include some of the best zip-lining in North America, dolphin and whale watching in the bay, sunset cruises and outstanding golf.
