WESTON, Mo. — McCormick Distillery in Weston, Mo., is one of the oldest of its kind in the U.S. It was established in 1856 before the light bulb was invented.
As part of the All Access KC series FOX 4’s Matt Stewart takes you behind the scenes of the distillery to learn about how they distill bourbon.
Holladay Distillery Manager Mark Kocour says bourbon sits in barrels for a minimum of three years.
“The aging process it goes into and out of the wood in the barrel and picks up its color and its flavor,” Kocour said.
