You’d think that by now, it’s unwritten movie etiquette everyone would just follow. But there’s still a bunch of people who don’t. We’re talking about people who still insist on texting and answering phone calls while watching a movie at the theater. Alamo Drafthouse is giving you a chance to be sure your next movie isn’t rudely interrupted.
The premium theater chain needs your help to enforce it’s “No Talking, No Texting” policy. The company has launched a contest called “Don’t Talk or Text During Movies.” The folks at Alamo want you to create and submit your own PSA reminding movie goers of the importance of keeping their phones tucked away at the theater. Submissions will be voted on by fans.
One PSA will be declared the local winner. He or she will win $200 and have his or her PSA shown before every movie screening at Alamo’s moviehouse on Main Street.
You have until November 21st to submit your PSA.
