Fitness guru Liz Kampschroeder shares tips on how to stay on track with your goals while traveling this summer!

Nutrition:

  • Plan your food before you leave
  • Know your resources (mini fridge, microwave, full kitchen)
  • Book hotels to accommodate your needs
  • Check non perishable food items if flying (nuts, protein bars, etc.)
  • Purchase perishables upon arriving at destination
  • If driving load up coolers with organized foods-ziploc bags are great!!
  • Increase your water intake to keep from becoming dehydrated, helps with hunger

Exercise:

  • Pick accommodations that are gym friendly
  • Travel with exercise bands which are easy to use anywhere
  • Check out local gyms and ask for day passes
  • Find walking trails, parks to walk/run
  • Engage the family in physical activities

For both nutrition and exercise: Log your progress everyday to track what you are doing.
