KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Trooper Michael L. Newton Toy Drive has begun and area troopers, together with Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, are asking for your generosity to help children have a good Christmas.
It is a very special program because the troopers deliver the donated toys to the kids in person. They get to see their smiles, receive their hugs or thank yous.
All toys should be new and unwrapped.
Donations of electronic games, board games, and new children’s books are encouraged. They are looking for toys for kids from newborn to 16-years old that a child can play with in a hospital bed. All donations to the toy drive will be delivered to children at KU Medical Center and the Ronald McDonald House.
This annual toy drive honors Trooper Michael L. Newton, who died in the line of duty in 2003.
The drive is going on now through December 10th.
