KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The TSA will soon add the Kansas City International Airport to its list of pre-check screening called TSA Pre-Check. By the end of the year, preapproved travelers who pay a fee of $85 and get cleared will be allowed to keep their shoes on, keep their laptops in their cases and keep approved liquids in carry-on bags.
TSA Pre-Check will have special lanes and travelers will have a check-in bar code on their boarding passes.
“I think if they’re going to screen everyone, they should screen everyone,” Miguel Ruiz, frequent traveler said. “I don’t think they should be able to pay a fee to get through faster.”
TSA Pre-Check is expected to begin at Southwest Airlines as soon as they operationally ready.
