SEATTLE, Wash. — Since 2007 at least 15 severed feet have washed ashore in the Seattle, Washington area. The latest — a foot still in a white New Balance sneaker — washed ashore near Seattle’s Pier 86 on Tuesday, May 6.

Some speculate the feet could be from nearby islands or from as far away as Japan. One thing is certain — many find it strange.

“I think it’s kind of bizarre, why the feet just show up and nothing else,” Irene Wilkin, Seattle resident, said.

Could it be sharks? Or something more sinister? No one seems to know right now.

The foot was taken to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office to see if DNA can help with the identification.
