BELTON, Mo. — Teenagers often have many things to do. They have school commitments, extra-curricular activities, sometimes an after-school job and their social calendar.
A 16-year-old girl in Belton has given up a lot to take on adult responsibilities because she see what her family needs. She cares for her infant cousin and her terminally ill grandmother.
Instead of hanging out with friends, Kayleigh Conrad hangs out with her grandmother.
“I just feel like we need to do something for Kayleigh. She’s losing her whole world. She’s losing her grandmother and we just want to do something for her,” said Emma Richwine, who nominated her for FOX 4’s ‘Pay It Forward’ program. Kayleigh received $300 from FOX 4’s Kathy Quinn.
