OLATHE, Kan. — A Johnson County teen has pleaded guilty to charges related to a stalking arrest.
19-year-old Eric Kaplan pleaded guilty in court on Monday to a charge of aggravated assault after stalking a Leawood woman.
As he walked out of court Kaplan ignored FOX 4’s requests for comments. But inside, Kaplan admitted to following a woman home from the Price Chopper at 133rd and Mission Road.
At the time, the victim said she saw Kaplan outside the store and he followed her to her house. As she was pulling down her street, the victim noticed Kaplan had on a black mask, so she called police.
Kaplan was found with drugs, gloves, lubrication and a knife, according to the victim.
In court, Kaplan admitted to the facts in the case as presented by the prosecution. The prosecutor says the victim knows about and is okay with the deal reached with Kaplan.
Kaplan will be sentenced August 13. He could face almost three years in jail and will have to register as a violent offender for 15 years.
