BRONX, New York – A 29-year-old woman died after plastic surgery she received went horribly wrong.
According to the New York Daily News, Bevery Brigoni, the mother of a four-year-old girl, flew to the Dominican Republic on February 19 where she intended to get discounted liposuction and a tummy tuck at a clinic, friends had recommended to her. She had also researched the clinic online.
The next day, she went into surgery and never made it out of the operating room. The doctor said Brigoni had fallen victim to a pulmonary embolism, which is a blood clot that blocks vital oxygen from getting to the heart.
Now Brigoni’s boyfriend, who had been traveling with her to the Dominican Republic when she died, along with her family, have hired a lawyer and are seeking to sue the clinic.
