SHAWNEE, Kan. — Police have identified a man killed late Thursday night on I-435 as Shaun P. Robinson, 26, of Kansas City, Kan.
The accident, involving a semi-trailer and a passenger car, happened near I-435 and Shawnee Mission Parkway. The Kansas Highway Patrol said Robinson was killed after he exited his vehicle.
KHP said Robinson was walking westbound across the Interstate when he was first struck in lane three. KHP did not speculate why Robinson left his car.
Southbound lanes of I-435 were closed for an extended period of time but have since reopened.
