KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One day after crews hit a gas line in Independence, a different crew hit another gas line in downtown Kansas City.
Crews working in the street near 11th and Petticoat in Kansas City hit a four-inch gas line, causing gas to spew into the air. The smell was reportedly really strong. Several buildings were evacuated including City Center Square.
Fire fighters said it may take an hour to get the gas turned off, at which point crews can then begin making repairs.
