HENRY COUNTY, Mo. –An autopsy revealed that Justin Michael Emmerton died from a gunshot wound according to the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office. The Rural Missouri Case Squad will be reconvening on Saturday to continue the investigation.
Earlier on Friday the Henry County Sheriff’s Office identified a body that fisherman found in Grand River on Wednesday evening as Emmerton’s, 29, of Kingsville, Missouri. They identified him using a fingerprint match from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Laboratory.

When the body was discovered there was obvious trauma, but at the time investigators wouldn’t indicate whether it was the result of a gunshot, knife wound or other physical harm.
