(CNN) — Prosecutors dropped charges Wednesday against Allen Edwards, one of two men arrested in connection with an attack on an SUV driver who was swarmed by bikers over the weekend. The office is not currently prosecuting Edwards as it continues to investigate the entire incident, said Erin Duggan, communications director for Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr.

The New York City Police Department said the victim, along with his wife and 2-year-old daughter, was driving a Ranger Rover on Sunday when he struck a motorcyclist, breaking his leg.
“It was an accident,” said Lt. Karen Anderson.
The gang, called “Hollywood Stuntz,” according to police, chased the man up Manhattan’s West Side Highway and slashed his tires, forcing him to stop.
The driver of the Ranger Rover was cornered and beaten, according to police, and he was later treated at a local hospital for slashes to his face and released. His wife and child were not injured, and his name has not been released.
A helmet camera one of the bikers was wearing captured much of the road rage incident, including the moment when one of the bikers walks up to the SUV and smashes its window with a bike helmet. The video has been posted online.
Police say this same group of bikers descended on New York City last year in what Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said is a “major stunt event.” Their intention, according to police, was to get into Times Square, which they did last year.
Police say they were able to prevent the group from entering that area this year. Police arrested 15 bikers in total Sunday, seized 55 bikes and wrote 68 summons for various violations.
They are looking at video footage to try to determine if any charges will be filed in the road rage incident.
“The investigation is ongoing,” Kelly said.
