KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A plan for a hotel to coincide with a new office tower on the Plaza have been dropped by the developer, the Kansas City Business Journal reported Monday.

The $80 million project would have brought a 200,000 square foot Hyatt hotel with 223 rooms, the paper said.

The developer told the journal it couldn’t hold up their end of the deal because of financing.

Despite dropping the hotel, the group said they plan to build an office-only tower.
