BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. — The Blue Springs School District released a statement Friday afternoon on its decision to not accept students who wish to transfer from the Kansas City, Mo. School District.

On Thursday, the Jackson County Circuit Court ruled that Independence, Lee’s Summit, and North Kansas City school districts would not  have to accept KCMOSD transfers. But the judge ruled that the Raytown and Blue Springs districts could afford to absorb the additional students.

Blue Springs said in its statement Friday that:

“This Court’s ruling will undoubtedly be appealed. Considering the myriad of evidentiary and legal issues involved in this opinion, the Court’s ruling could very likely be reversed and/or significantly altered….. Therefore, the Blue Springs School District will not be accepting student transfers at this time from the Kansas City School District.”
