BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. — A local Blue Springs man was involved in a fatal one car accident on US-40 Highway just west of Wood Chapel Road, late Friday night.
The driver, Shaun M. Carnal, 39, was traveling westbound on US-40 Highway when investigators say he failed to negotiate a curve, causing his vehicle to go off the left side of the road.
The 2004 Chevorlet went airborne causing it to crash into a highway sign and two trees. Eventually the vehicle came to rest up against one of the two trees. Carnal was pronounced dead at the scene by Jackson County Medical Examiner, Barry Hazen.
