BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. — Imagine not being able to use your cell phone to make calls. That’s what some residents in Blue Springs are dealing with.

When Chris Wright called his wife, his phone wasn’t working. He thought, “that my wife shut my phone off because I wouldn’t answer it.”

He wasn’t the only one having problems. In Blue Springs, there was a cell tower outage that affected Sprint users. It’s been a huge inconvenience for Wright.

“I have a little girl in school and if the school needs me they can’t get a hole of me,” he said. “I use my cell phone for work. It’s the only way to get in touch with me.”

Sprint released a statement saying:

“Sprint experienced a service outage at one of the wireless towers in the Blue Springs area late yesterday. The impacted area was isolated to the one tower and did not impact any other part of Blue Springs. Service has been restored, however, some Sprint customers within close proximity of the tower may experience intermittent service issues this afternoon as we work to optimize the service. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers.”

For now, Wright will rely on landlines.
