CASS COUNTY — Police are still investigating after a body was found near a set of railroad tracks in Cass County, Mo., but they have ruled out foul play. The body has been identified as 42-year-old Mindi L. Smith of Lee’s Summit according to a news release from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said they received a call from a railroad company around 10 a.m. on Thursday regarding the discovery of Smith’s body. Police said the she was located in an area north of Pleasant Hill near 175th Street and was struck by a train. Investigators still have not determined the exact reason that Smith was on the tracks.
