ATLANTA — An Atlanta church held a praise service to celebrate the life of a ten-year-old boy who survived a kidnapping, possibly because he sang a praise song that annoyed the kidnapper so much that he released the boy.
Willie Myrick was nine-years-old when he was kidnapped from his driveway earlier this month.
According to WXIA-TV in Atlanta, for three hours, while the kidnapper drove around, Willie sang the song, “Every Praise” by gospel singer Hezekia Walker.
The kidnapper cursed at Willie’s ceaseless singing and kept telling him to ‘shut up’ before he finally shoved him out the car door.
Last Thursday evening, Willie’s church, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, invited Walker to come worship with them and meet Willie.
“I just wanna hug him. I just wanna tell him that I love him,” said Walker.

Be sure to watch the interview Willie did with radio station V103 in Atlanta, in which he sang for them.
“He was probably irritated of me singing,” Willie, who turned ten-years old April 17, told them.
