CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ariel Castro pleaded guilty to a litany of charges of Friday morning. FOX 8 in Cleveland reports that the recommended sentencing is life without parole plus 1,000 years. Castro, 53, admitted to kidnapping and raping Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Kinght for a decade.
Castro told Judge Michael Russo that he had an addiction to pornography that had taken toll on his mind. He also said that he knew the “book would be thrown” at him.
A defense attorney said that Castro did not want the women to have to testify and that the plea brought a sense of relief to the women. Castro’s sentencing is set for August 1st.
