GRANDVIEW, Mo. — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office took two people into custody Thursday for a sex offender violation. A 45-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman were taken from a house on the corner of 6th and High Grove.

Neighbors noticed about half a dozen unmarked police cars outside of the house — and went in and out with boxes full of unknown items. Officers said they were there to serve a search warrant.

Neighbors were surprised to learn that a sex offender could have live there because they have seen children’s toys in the backyard.

“That disgusts me, I’m a father myself,” said neighbor James Siebert. “Makes you wonder what was in the bags knowing there was possibly an offender there, a violator there.”

The sheriff’s office wouldn’t elaborate about the warrant and cannot reveal the violators’ identities until they are officially charged.
