Firefighters battled a blaze in downtown Clinton, Missouri, Thursday night. Witnesses said the blaze is shooting embers as far as a block away.

According to witnesses, the fire began in a dry cleaning business near 2nd and Jefferson around 8 p.m. Thursday. The fire spread to other buildings on the block, sending embers some distance from the fire.

No word yet on the extent of the damage.

Clinton is about 75 miles south of Kansas City.
