LAWRENCE, Kan. — Two Lawrence Police officers have been accused of fixing traffic tickets in exchange for University of Kansas basketball tickets.
Lawrence officials confirmed to FOX 4 that an extensive FBI investigation into the Lawrence Police Department found enough evidence against the officers to take administrative actions against them. Authorities would not say what those actions were.
An anonymous tip believed to have come from within the police department is what led investigators and the FBI to the alleged scandal, Lawrence Mayor Aron Cromwell told FOX 4.
Cromwell also said there is not enough evidence for criminal charges.
