KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Mario Christian and his wife say on July 12 they’d just finished their dinner when they heard a loud bang at their door. Then suddenly, more than a dozen armed agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration stormed through their front door with a battering ram.
“As I opened the door I kept telling them they had the wrong house,” Christian said.
The couple lives in the 5800 Block of East 83rd Street in Kansas City, Mo. Christian says after the Federal Drug Agents entered his house with a search warrant, they immediately ordered the couple to lie on the floor, pointed guns at them and handcuffed them for almost an hour. It wasn’t until then that the agents realized they were at the wrong house.
Christian says as a cell phone photo and the GPS information attached to it mistakenly led the drug agents to his house, giving him and his wife the scare of their lives.
“I think they should’ve done a better investigation than just using GPS coordinates off a picture that was taken on July 1. This is July 12 when they kicked in, ” added Christian. “And when the gun got pointed at my head that’s when I dropped to my knees. I’m just glad my kids weren’t here.”
The U.S. Attorney’s office and a spokesman said as a matter of policy, the Department of Justice doesn’t comment on investigations unless charges are filed.
Meantime, Mario Christian and his wife Mersalina are adding up the damage to their house, talking to their lawyer and now considering moving.
