KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Mazuma Credit Union is moving its headquarters across the state line.
The financial institution’s main office is currently situated at 93rd and Troost in Kansas City, Mo., but a new headquarters will soon be built at 135th and Metcalf in Overland Park, Kan., by September 2014.
CEO and President Brandon Michaels told Fox 4 the company has outgrown its current building. The board wanted to expand Mazuma’s presence in Johnson County and decided that building a new headquarters in Overland Park, Kan., would be the best option. Michaels added they also looked at possibly building a new headquarters in Lee’s Summit, Mo., but they already have three Mazuma branches there and didn’t want to oversaturate that market.
The new headquarters will be the first Mazuma branch in Johnson County and will help service the thousands of Kansas customers who currently drive across the state line for service.
Michaels added all nine branches, including the branch at 93rd and Troost in Kansas City, Mo., will remain open after they build their new headquarters.
