KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Fans are eating up “The Hunger Games,” the highly anticipated film based on a series of books hitting theaters at midnight. But some people are wondering if a storyline about starving kids fighting to the death is a bit too hard core for younger viewers.

FOX 4’s Mary Pulley reports that despite the grim and violent content, the books remain an adult-approved read for youth.
