KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A gunman is on the loose after he reportedly robbed a home then shot and killed a dog early Friday morning.

Police said the home robbery took place around 4 a.m. in the 8300 block of Noland Road in Kansas City. Police said a man described as wearing dark clothing busted down the front door of the home. Once inside he hit a man living there over the head with a gun. The intruder then started taking things from the home. As he was leaving, he shot and killed and a dog.

FOX 4’s Rob Collins at the scene said the victim is shaken and upset that his dog was killed.

Police are unsure which direction the suspect fled.
