OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Officials are warning drivers in the south part of the metro to take care in their commutes on Wednesday afternoon as crews work to repair damaged guardrails at the busy I-35/I-435 interchange.
The Kansas Department of Transportation has closed the ramp from westbound I-435 to the northbound/southbound ramp to I-35 for repair the guardrails. Officials say that the ramp is expected to remain closed until 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and drivers should expect delays.
Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Howard Dickinson says that it’s a good idea to plan ahead before you reach the closed interchange.
“Pick your way before you leave the house,” said Trooper Dickinson.
In addition to that closure, various lanes along 69 Highway in Johnson County will be closed from now until Friday afternoon as workers finish construction along the busy highway.
