KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A fire destroyed a Kansas City, Kansas, home on Wednesday morning, slightly injuring a firefighter.
Authorities say that fire broke out in the house near South 53rd Street and Woodend shortly after 4:00 a.m. A woman and two children lived in the house, but were not home at the time of the fire.
A Kansas City Kansas firefighter suffered an injured hand while fighting the blaze. He was taken to an area hospital, where he is expected to be okay.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
