KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Missouri School District will be dismissing students early at East High School and Northeast High School due to warm temperatures in the buildings, the district said on Wednesday.
In a statement, the district says that students at both buildings will be dismissed at 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, and parents will be notified by a phone call and through notices on the schools’ web pages.
The district says that the two high schools are the only schools in the district that are not air-conditioned.
According to the district, KCPS officials monitor temperatures in the buildings, and will opt for early release when the inside temperature reaches a certain, undisclosed threshold.
