He’s been with the Griffin’s since Family Guy’s pilot episode, but Sunday night, his animated life came to an end. Brian, the smart and charming family dog, was hit by a car in the episode titled, ‘Life of Brian.’ Many of the show’s fans took to social media to lament the passing of the popular character.

But there is life after Brian for Peter and company, they have a new dog on the show named Vinnie, who is being voiced by Tony Sirico.

In an interview with E! Online, executive producer Steve Callaghan said that the show’s writers thought this would be a fun way to shake things up. He also said that he show has loyal fans and are smart enough to trust that the show’s creators are doing what’s best for its direction.
