KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Staying connected to Kansas City — that’s what Rob Riggle, Jason Sudeikis and Paul Rudd are doing.
This weekend they’ll host the third annual Big Slick Celebrity Poker Tournament at Harrah’s Casino on Saturday, June 23. The event benefits Children’s Mercy Hospital.
On Friday, Riggle and Sudeikis visited some of the kids being treated there and answered questions about why they continue to keep Kansas City close to their hearts.

“We’re Kansas City guys, this is our hometown, this is where we grew up, this is where we learned our values, this is where our families are, so for me, I want to stay connected, I want to stay connected to Kansas City,” Riggle said.
Riggle said Children’s Mercy Hospital is making great strides in advancing medical technology and that he considers it a privileged to host an event that benefits the work they do.
“I got to watch them do open heart surgery on a nine-day old baby and it blew me away,” he said. “Just a year prior that child might have died, probably would have, but because of the advancements and because of what they do here, that child is alive today.”
