KC homeboy Paul Rudd stars along with Tina Fey in the comic drama, “Admission.” Fey is a staunch Princeton admissions officer and Rudd is a high school teacher who tries to talk her into admitting an unusual student.
SHAWN
This comedy gets an F. It isn’t funny, charming or clever. Paul Rudd gives it the old college try but Tina Fey seemed to be some place else.
RUSS
It may be inconsequential and only fitfully funny, but it’s sweet and the cast more than makes the cut.
SHAWN
“Admission” is one of the worst movies of the year and it’s totally miscast. But it’s the awful jokes and lack of chemistry that will have you dropping out of this school.

If “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” were re-imagined by a lovesick teenage girl, it might look a lot like “The Host.”
SHAWN
Wait. “The Host” is the worst movie so far this year. So bad it almost feels like you are watching a high school play.
RUSS
After scoring big with the “Twilight” series, novelist Stephenie Meyer returned to the bestseller list with this bizarre sci-fi romance. Like “Twilight,” “The Host” has a love triangle, but this time two of the three members of the triangle inhabit the same body.
SHAWN
“The Host” is dumber than the dumbest stuff on the SyFy Channel.
RUSS
The cast is saddled with some really lame dialogue and awkward moments that generate unintended laughs. “The Host” should appeal to its target audience of teen and pre-teen girls, but others, beware. PS: Look quick for Evan Cleaver, son of Congressman Emmanuel Cleaver, as Seeker Pavo.
SHAWN
This movie doesn’t appeal to anyone. And I hope it doesn’t kill Evan Cleaver’s career before it gets started.

“Disney Girls Gone Wild” could be the alternate title for a bit of cinematic perversion called “Spring Breakers.” What have these people got against old Uncle Walt, anyway?
SHAWN
Wait this is the worst movie of the year so far. It’s filthy disgusting and racist. Yuk.
RUSS
This is a creepy and ugly movie that achieves something remarkable. It takes a story about beautiful naked girls and shoot-‘em-up gunplay…and makes it utterly boring.
SHAWN
This is cinematic garbage.
