KANSAS CITY, Mo —
1) jOBS (PG-13)
Open Road Films
RUSS
“jOBS,” the biopic about Apple founder Steve Jobs, is respectable and sincere, but never compelling.
SHAWN
“jOBS” is a complete misfire. Ashton Kutcher is fine. But the story is wayward and feels incomplete and lacks depth.
RUSS
Such a forceful figure deserves a more forceful movie.
SHAWN
So true. Needed to more on the same level as “The Social Network” not “The Fifth Estate.” Fail. The extras include deleted scenes, an Ashton Kutcher is Steve Jobs featurette, The Legacy of Steve Jobs featurette and JOBS: Behind the Score.

2) RED 2 (PG-13)
Summit Entertainment (Lionsgate)
RUSS
It’s reassuring to know that people of a certain age can still kick some backside.
SHAWN
You know what? Some movies are just designed for the audience to have fun and when it seems like the cast is having the a good time it’s a win, win.
RUSS
Bruce Willis and Helen Mirren return as aging CIA black ops agents, now joined by Anthony Hopkins in an effort to find a missing nuclear device. It’s all good, action-packed fun.
SHAWN
The bonus material includes a behind-the-scenes look at the film’s characters, weapons, spy gadgets, and stuntsand a gag reel.
3) GETAWAY (PG-13)
Warner Brothers
RUSS
“Getaway” is a 90-minute car chase disguised as a movie. Ethan Hawke and Selena Gomez drive around Bulgaria, decimating the police and all credibility in this ludicrous exercise in mayhem.
SHAWN
If “Getaway” were a video game it would be awesome. But it’s not. it’s a movie and an awful one.
RUSS
If car crashes are your thing, check out “Getaway”…but the “Fast & Furious” movies seem like Shakespeare by comparison.
SHAWN
The extras include additional footage and some behind the scenes stuff. Was really looking for that Selena Gomez retrospective.
