GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. — The former mayor of Grain Valley, Steve Gildehaus, has been charged with stealing money from a property he once managed, The Examiner reports.

Gildehaus turned himself into authorities on Tuesday, posted a $10,000 bond and was released.

He’s expected back in court on July 30.

The former mayor is charged with stealing more than $44,000. He could be sentenced for 5 to 15 years in prison, if convicted.
