KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Wednesday would have been Myeshia Turner’s 29th birthday. Her family is using it to announce another effort to bring her killer to justice. It comes four months after she and her daughter, Damiah White, were found deceased in a home they had recently moved into. The executive director of Ad Hoc said there’s a general idea of who killed them.
Now they hope a new reward fund will compel someone to come forward. Their family says it’s been unbearable without them and the community around them is stepping up to help. Flyers have been handed out and volunteers have gone door-to-door, but no one has been arrested for the double homicide.
The mother and daughter were found dead near 55th and Wabash, back in late August. Turner’s one-year-old son, Denim White, was found alive inside the home, next to their dead bodies
“I don’t understand how a human being could live with their self knowing something like this has happened,” Sheryl Turner, Myeisha’s mother, said.
Despite the heartbreak and frustration, the Ad Hoc Group Against Crime remains committed to aiding the family in their quest for justice.
“We want to do everything that we can do in our power to ensure that this person is brought to justice,” Brian Dial, Ad Hoc’s executive director, said.
