KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A four-year-old girl was remembered on Sunday night. It had been a week since she tragically died in a house fire. She loved getting dressed up and she loved the color pink. If she heard a big word, she tried to use and that is how friends and family remembered Sh’mere Jackson Green.
A cloud of pink balloons was released, something Sh’mere would have loved. She was known as princess because of how she adored playing dress up and was always the perfect little lady, from tip to toe.
“She was a precious angel. We loved her to death. We are going to miss her but she is in a better place,” Sh’mere’s uncle Alonzo Williams said.
The fire that she died in gutted her Kansas City, Kan. home. The family said that it was an electrical fire that started in the kitchen. Sh’mere’s seven-year-old sister tried to save her but lost her hand in the smoke.
Sh’mere’s father thanked the firefighter who rescued his daughter’s body from the flames. He was grateful to have his little back to lay to rest. Her funeral is Tuesday at St. Andrew’s Baptist Church.
