Friends and family are remembering those lost in the explosion at Bartlett Grain. On Tuesday, officials announced the names of the victim’s who lost their lives while working at the grain elevator. Curtis Field was one of the victim’s on Saturday.
His family says they’re staying strong as dozens of family members gather to remember what a dedicated worker their son was. His parents say Field was just 21-years-old. He had worked at the Bartlett plant for about a year as a lead grain tester. His family says he spoke to his girlfriend right before Saturday’s accident. His family says he checked in with his boss every night because he was dedicated to his job.
“He didn’t know a stranger,” said Lynn Field. “He would help anyone that needed help and people take notice of that a respect that.”
Field grew up in Atchison and studied at Highland Community College. His family says he loved farm living and anything John Deere. His body was recovered on Tuesday along with two others.
