KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A KCK pregnant mother of two was found murdered inside a vacant burned down home a year ago.

One year has passed and still the family of Latisha Hare has no idea who killed her. They refuse to let her memory drift away and are still fighting for answers.

“I love you so much and I miss you every day, every day,” said Dennise Hare, who says the pain is still very fresh.

She says she relives February 3rd every day.

“I knew something was wrong because she calls me every day. She hadn’t,” Hare said.

When Hare turned on the news, she saw the headline, ‘Woman murdered then placed in vacant home that went up in flames,’ and still Hare has no idea who killed her daughter.

“Just to know that it was probably somebody we knew. I don’t know. They could be standing right next to me. I don’t like that,” said Hare.

The Hare family says they’ve done all they can. They’ve worked closely with police asked their community for tips but it hasn’t been enough to close Latisha’s case.

“I don’t want to go every day not knowing. I can’t. I don’t want to. I want them off the streets,” Hare said.

Without closure, this mother says she has no peace and every time she looks into her granddaughter’s eyes she wonders how she’ll explain why her mom isn’t here, but what she’s even more scared about is not being able to tell her that her mother’s killer was brought to justice.

“We want it so bad, for her children when they get older, for me, for everybody. We want this person off the street whoever it is,” said Hare.

So until that day comes, they’re spreading the word and asking people not to forget, about Latisha Hare.

“We love you Tish,” she said.
